Let’s talk airplane engines

This week we’re talking about turbine jet engines

Especially the on the boeing 777x due to enter service in 2020.

This engine will be the most efficient at a 11 foot diameter ever made. This engine will be one of the most fuel efficient of its class. How?

Good question, it’s fuel efficient because new materials that are used to make it lighter like ceramics and polycarbonate composites in the fans blades  that is stronger and lighter which leads to the engine efficiency. But also based on an well balance ratio between fan diameter and thrust. Many scientist and mathematicians have determine a 12 foot diameter fan on a turbine engine is optimal but until then this 11 foot diameter is perfect for fuel efficiency.

Thanks for reading check back next week for another blog entry.
